This part of the comic that is out of historical order, moving Ackerman's recounting of coming up with the term “sci-fi” from 1954 to 1930. While anachronistic, I feel it is thematic at this point in the narrative. The quotes I assigned to Hogenmiller were actually spoken by Wendayne, Ackerman’s wife, “Forget it, Forrie. It will never catch on.” Hogenmiller coined the term “stf” for scientifiction, which became the shorthand for science fiction for much of this period.
